Cabel Sasser talks about Panic and the development of Coda in particular. Both interesting and funny. Via maniacalrage.
I’m doing my final episode as an editor at Was mit Medien today. I will miss the show and all the great people that helped create and run it. I’ll remain active as special agent for web operations, though. And we’ve got some neat things coming up in that area. So stay tuned and check the podcast, in case you haven’t yet.

A neat idea well done. But since you have to upload the songs yourself it’s completely useless for people from countries with some kind of copyright laws. People outside of the US, that is. It’d make more sense if the service would fetch music from myspace, last.fm and similar sources. See their tumblelog, too.
Just a tiny update regarding the Firefox 3 Beta: As Gruber notes, the great GrApple theme is available for Firefox 3. Makes the new firefox a bit less painful to the eye. Gosh, I’m happy to see that huge “back” button go.
All the geeks are already running it, but still a little reminder for all your readers with real lifes: The latest Firefox Beta is amazing. I’ve been a die-hard Safari user, but the new Firefox almost made me switch in a couple of days. Love the new bookmark features and the quickness. Still don’t love the ui too much, but thats what skins are made for. Go get it, girls and boys.

Lance Wyman did the logo for the 1968 olympic games. ‘Nuff said.
Nerdfotainment →
Funny (and true) write up on how the “nerd way of thinking” influences the storylines of films and tv shows. Not quite sure if I want to believe it, but it’s fascinating in any case. Via Daring Fireball.

fireabend:“das ist echt toll. uninspirierter coverflow klau - geschenkt. tracks und chic (das tägliche halbstündige style und design magazin) gucken wenn man zeit und keinen fernseher hat: (fast) unbezahlbar.”
The girl and I went to see SDNMT yesterday evening (at Amp). It was beautiful. Maybe I’m developing a strange addiction to sophisticated post-rock, but there was something mesmerizing about the way they combined beats, sounds and general loveliness.
They’re on Sinnbus Records, so all their artwork and releases are exceptionally well designed and feature lots of cute details (see...

My DOPPLR Tips →
If you’re bored to death and / or planning to take a short trip to Hamburg or Münster, check out my tips at DOPPLR. I have no use for that service whatsoever, but I like ther user interface design so much that I keep entering random tips and data. Anyone else using the service and wanting to share?
Sao Paolo goes ad-free →
Amazing story, and it appears to be true, too: Sao Paulo has banned all forms of advertising from their inner city area. The linked PDF contains pictures of cleared signs, empty store fronts and more. It almost looks surreal. Via casn.

Neat javascript library for CSS manipulation by yellowgreen.

– Reinhard Jellen, Upown Strut / No. 1
Sometimes a beautiful northern soul 7” is all that’s left to cling to. Don’t forget to check out the great Uptown Strut mag if you’re into rare soul, modern jazz and funk grooves. It’s really lovely (and well designed).
Mercedes Benz Mixed Tape →
The Mixed Tape is back in a new format. I don’t like the content too much, but they’ve done a nice job on the interface, video production and everything.
The Desktop Wallpaper Project →
Bobby from Kitsune Noir will release some exclusive desktop pictures by various digital artists every wednesday. Neat idea and something to look forward to. Good (and usable) desktop pictures are really hard to find.
