The way the typography degrates in this recent poster artwork by Studio family is beautiful.

Matohu’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection is an exercise in cuts, texture, fabrics and draping. Inherently Japanese and highly contemporary, a thing of beauty.

I think Francesco Franchi did an amazing job on his redesign of IL Magazine, spearheading a calm and subtle design direction that sets it apart from other contemporary magazines. His layout paradigms open up a wide range of editorial freedom, as is evident from the fashion pages. Also note the publications new logotype, which encompasses past, present and future within a simple typographic shape. Here is the full Flickr set for issue 34.

I have not been hesitant to share my belief that Non Format is the best design studio on this planet. This Lookbook for Rick Owens is just another document of their greatness. Clarity, brutality, proportion, black-on-black overprinting. Graphic design.
Zürich
Whilst things have been rather slow around here in recent weeks, this will not change over the course of the coming days, as I’ll spend some time in Zürich. I am looking forward to visit some exhibitions, take photos and buy books. In case you happen to be around, ping me for a cup of fine caffeine.
